Game Overview

Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness is one of those N64 sequels that actually improves on the original—though it still has that weird, janky charm of early 3D action games. You start as Cornell, a werewolf with a personal stake in things: Dracula snatched his little sister, so you’re storming the castle eight years before the first game’s events. The combat’s clunky but satisfying once you get used to it, and the gothic halls feel even creepier with the upgraded visuals.

After Cornell’s story, you unlock Henry, who’s basically on a rescue mission with a ticking clock—nothing like racing against time while skeletons try to stab you. And if you’re nostalgic for Castlevania 64, Reinhardt and Carrie are back too, letting you replay their story but with better lighting and textures. It’s not perfect, but the atmosphere and variety make it worth revisiting if you’re into classic vampire-slaying chaos.
