Play Castlevania : Aria of Sorrow Online
Explore Dracula's castle, battle monsters, absorb their souls for new powers, and unlock secrets in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow on Game Boy Advance.
I picked up Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow back in 2003 on the Game Boy Advance, a Konami release that came out when handhelds were really hitting their stride. It was part of that wave of games that made the GBA feel like a serious platform, not just a portable diversion. You play as Soma Cruz, a high school student who gets pulled into Dracula’s castle during a solar eclipse, and the whole setup just pulls you right in.
You control Soma as he explores the castle room by room, fighting monsters with weapons like swords and axes while hunting for keys and abilities to open up new areas. The standout mechanic is the soul system: when you defeat enemies, there’s a chance you’ll absorb their souls, which grant you new attacks, movement skills, or passive buffs. It encourages a lot of backtracking and grinding in the best way, and the pacing stays engaging without feeling too punishing. Moving through the castle, unlocking shortcuts, and building your arsenal of souls makes the whole experience feel deeply personal and full of discovery.
