Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness is that weird, slightly janky N64 sequel to the already janky Castlevania 64—but somehow, it’s also kind of great? You’ve got four characters to pick from (Cornell the werewolf is my go-to), and the whole thing feels like a clunky but weirdly charming 3D take on the gothic horror vibe. Yeah, the camera fights you sometimes, and the platforming can be brutal, but stumbling through candle-lit halls while skeletons pop out never gets old.

It’s got that classic Castlevania mood—creepy music, giant bosses, and a castle that feels like it’s actively trying to kill you. If you can push past the N64-era roughness, there’s a solid action game here with way more depth than people give it credit for. Just don’t expect Symphony of the Night.
