Game Overview

Cutie Q is this weird little arcade gem that mashes up Breakout and pinball in ways you wouldn’t expect. Instead of just paddles and bricks, you’ve got these rainbow blocks and a creature called Minimon that pops up every time you hit the bottom paddle—up to four can crowd the top of the screen. Clear enough blocks, and these things called Walkmen show up (no, not the cassette players).

The controls take some getting used to—rotary joystick moves two paddles, and the ball launches from the side like a real pinball machine. No bumpers here, but there are sidetraps that snag your ball and rack up bonus points while it bounces around. It’s chaotic in the best way, especially when the screen fills up with Minimons and you’re scrambling to keep the ball in play. Definitely one of those games where you’ll lose track of time trying to figure out all its little quirks.
