If you've ever wanted to play as a cybernetic cat with anger issues and a small armory strapped to its back, Cyborg Kuro-chan 2 is your Game Boy Color dream come true. You're Kuro, a tiny black cat who's mostly metal and entirely done with everyone's nonsense. The first level drops you straight into the White Woods, where you'll immediately start blasting robot frogs with your arm cannon while jumping between floating platforms—because of course that's how this game starts.
The controls feel surprisingly good for a GBC platformer—Kuro's little metal legs have just the right spring to them, and switching between weapons (you'll unlock more as you go) becomes second nature fast. Some enemies take more hits than others, so you'll quickly learn which gadgets work best where. The art style nails that early 2000s anime vibe, all exaggerated expressions and chaotic energy.
It's one of those sequels that improves on everything: tighter levels, weirder bosses, and way more ways to cause robotic mayhem. Just don't be surprised when you catch yourself grinning after uppercutting a mech-bear with a hidden rocket fist.
