Cyborg Kuro-chan: Devil Fukkatsu is one of those weird, charming Game Boy Color shooters where you play as a cyborg cat hellbent on revenge. The whole thing moves automatically—you’re just controlling a targeting reticle while Kuro runs forward, blasting everything in sight. It’s chaotic, but in a good way.
You start each level by picking your loadout from an arsenal of ridiculous weapons (lasers, missiles, the works), and swapping between them mid-fight feels surprisingly smooth for a GBC game. The jump button’s there too, mostly to dodge obstacles when the screen gets too crowded with explosions. And yeah, you can blow up parts of the scenery, which never gets old.
It’s got that classic anime/manga vibe, complete with exaggerated enemy designs and Kuro’s grudge against the mad scientist who turned him into a weaponized feline. If you like rail shooters with personality, this one’s a solid pick.
