Play Dai-4-ji Super Robot Taisen (Japan) (Rev A) Online
You command a squad of classic anime mechs, lining up rocket punches and beam sabers in crunchy SNES-style battles—every hit feels like flipping through an old manga. The Rev A tweaks make the fights flow better without losing that chaotic robot-war charm.

Dai-4-ji Super Robot Taisen is one of those SNES games that makes you feel like a kid again—if your childhood involved orchestrating massive robot brawls between anime legends. Within minutes, you're dropping Mazinger Z's rocket punch on some poor enemy unit, then switching to a Gundam for a precision beam rifle shot. The sprites are chunky and full of charm, and the attacks have just enough flash to make you grin.
What I love about this version (the Rev A update) is how it smooths out the rough edges from earlier entries. The difficulty doesn't spike randomly, and some of the weirder balance issues got fixed. You still get that classic Super Robot Wars mix of turn-based tactics and over-the-top anime nonsense—like watching Getter Robo cleave a battleship in half while your custom pilots yell attack names at the pixelated heavens.
If you're into mecha or old-school strategy RPGs, this is basically a time capsule of 90s robot fan service. Just be ready for a lot of menu-diving between battles to tweak your squad.
