Daisenryaku Expert is one of those SNES games that makes you feel like a military genius—until the AI crushes your carefully laid plans five turns later. It's all about moving tanks, jets, and ships across huge maps, but the real trick is managing supply lines. Forget to keep your troops fueled, and suddenly your unstoppable advance turns into sitting ducks.
The menus are all in Japanese, but after a couple of battles, you start recognizing unit icons and terrain effects. There’s something satisfying about flanking an enemy battleship with subs or watching your bombers whittle down a fortress. It’s slower than Advance Wars, way more punishing, and weirdly addictive once you get the hang of it.
If you’ve got the patience for old-school hex strategy, this one’s a deep dive worth taking. Just expect to restart a lot.
