Game Overview

Darkman on NES is one of those weird movie tie-ins that somehow works. You play as Peyton Westlake, the disfigured scientist-turned-vigilante from the Sam Raimi flick, jumping between rooftops and punching thugs in a surprisingly decent side-scroller. The controls are a little stiff—typical for the era—but there's something satisfying about tossing enemies off buildings or using your limited explosives to clear paths.

It's got that classic 8-bit difficulty spike where you'll die a lot at first, but once you memorize enemy patterns and where the health pickups hide, it clicks. The music's oddly catchy too, especially the industrial-sounding lab theme. Not the deepest game, but way better than most movie cash-grabs from that era.
