Game Overview

Deep Labyrinth is one of those weird DS games that sticks with you—partly because of how strange it is, and partly because of that magic system where you draw symbols on the touchscreen to cast spells. At first, it’s just simple shapes, but later you’re frantically scribbling these intricate patterns mid-battle like some kind of wizard under deadline.

The game’s split into two totally different stories. The first one feels like a lost PS1 JRPG—kid gets stranded, his parents vanish, and suddenly he’s in this eerie world where forgotten memories go to die. There’s anime cutscenes, NPCs who actually talk to you, and this lingering sadness because the whole place runs on erasing people’s pasts. Then the second chapter ditches all that and throws you into a dark, almost silent dungeon crawl where you’re trying to free a girl trapped in crystal. No explanations, just combat and atmosphere.

It’s janky in places (good luck with the D-pad movement), but there’s nothing else quite like it. The second chapter’s combat actually gets pretty intense once those spell symbols start requiring Olympic-level finger gymnastics.
