Demolition Man on the Sega Genesis, released by Acclaim Entertainment in 1995, was one of those movie tie-ins that tried to capture the film's over-the-top action. It came out during a time when licensed games were hit or miss, and this one had a mix of run-and-gun stages and some driving sections that kept things from getting too repetitive.
You play as John Spartan, moving through levels that switch between side-scrolling and top-down perspectives. Your main goal is to hunt down Simon Phoenix across a futuristic city, using pistols, grenades, and melee attacks to take out enemies. The game throws a lot of foes at you, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially during the driving parts where precision matters. It feels chaotic and a bit messy, but there's a certain satisfaction in blowing up cryo-prisoners and pushing through the crowded screens.
