Der Vielfrass—German for "The Glutton"—is one of those weird little Atari 2600 gems that slipped under the radar. You control this blocky little guy (or maybe it’s a creature? Hard to tell) who has to gobble up obstacles or dodge hazards—honestly, the exact goal isn’t super clear, but that’s part of the charm. It’s got that classic early '80s vibe where the rules are simple, the colors are bright, and you’ll probably lose within a minute the first few tries.

Starsoft only released it in PAL regions, so if you’re in North America, you’ve probably never seen it outside of emulators or collector circles. It’s not exactly Pac-Man or Pitfall, but there’s something oddly satisfying about figuring out its quirks. The kind of game you play for 10 minutes, mutter "huh," and then come back to later just because it’s so weirdly compelling.
