Game Overview

Desert Strike on the Amiga drops you straight into the cockpit of an Apache helicopter with one job: stop a madman named Kilbaba before he starts World War III. The isometric view makes it feel like you're hovering over a miniature warzone—tanks crawling below, anti-aircraft fire lighting up the sky, and those damn SCUD launchers you absolutely have to take out before they fire.

You start with just a machine gun and some basic missiles, but the real trick is managing fuel and armor while dodging enemy fire. I learned the hard way that running out of gas mid-mission means game over, but rescuing POWs gives you just enough armor to push forward. The missions escalate fast—one minute you're blowing up power plants, the next you're threading through missile barrages to extract MIA soldiers.

It's punishing but satisfying when you finally clear a level. Nothing beats the chaos of weaving between explosions while your low-fuel warning blinks angrily. Just don't expect mercy from those tanks—they don't miss.
