Game Overview

Destroyer was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though I don't recall the developer's name offhand. It was one of those straightforward action games from the era, built for quick sessions and focused entirely on its core mechanic. You don't get much backstory; it just drops you into the role of a naval commander and expects you to perform.

You control a warship viewed from above, moving left and right to avoid enemy submarines and their torpedoes. Your main objective is to survive as long as possible while sinking every sub that appears. You drop depth charges with careful timing, since they take a moment to sink and explode. The ocean begins to scroll faster the longer you play, increasing the pressure and the number of threats. It feels tense and immediate, like you're constantly balancing evasion with aggression just to stay afloat a few seconds longer.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
