Play Devil World (Europe) Online
Guide Tamagon the dragon through tricky mazes, collect dots, dodge enemies, and use Bibles to breathe fire in this 1987 NES classic.
Devil World came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, developed and published by Nintendo. It was one of those early NES titles that felt a bit different from the straightforward platformers and shooters of the time, offering a maze game with a distinct personality and some clever twists on familiar arcade-style action.
You control a small green dragon named Tamagon, navigating a series of single-screen mazes to collect all the dots while avoiding enemies. The main objective is to clear each stage by gathering every dot, but the devil at the top and bottom of the screen periodically shifts the entire maze left or right, squeezing the playfield and forcing you to adjust your path. You can find Bibles scattered in the maze; collecting them lets you breathe fire temporarily, clearing enemies from your path. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty ramps up steadily as new enemy types and tighter layouts appear. It feels like a tense, reactive puzzle where you're always watching for the next screen shift.
