Combat is real-time; you jump and attack through waves of viruses, managing a limited evolution timer that forces you to choose your transformations carefully. The pacing can feel uneven, with some repetitive enemy encounters, but successfully evolving your partner at the last second to turn the tide of a boss fight is always a thrill. It feels like directing a chaotic, pixelated episode of the show where your timing decides everything.
