Game Overview

Dinosaur King on the DS is one of those weirdly addictive card-battlers where you dig up fossils, revive dinosaurs, and then throw them into turn-based fights. You play as either Max or Rex—basically kid paleontologists who end up battling this shady group called the Alpha Gang over rare dino cards.

The battles are simple but fun—you pick attack cards, hope your T-Rex doesn’t get wrecked by a sneaky Triceratops, and watch little animations of dinosaurs chomping on each other. There’s a whole encyclopedia thing too, which is cool if you actually care about dinosaur stats (I mostly just wanted my Spinosaurus to win fights).

You’ll hop between continents digging for fossils, and yeah, you can battle friends if you find someone else with a copy. It’s not super deep, but there’s something satisfying about building a team of overpowered prehistoric monsters. Just watch out for Antarctica—those ice dinos hit harder than you’d expect.
