Play Dinosaur King Online
Dig up fossil cards, collect dinosaurs, and battle the Alpha Gang in turn-based combat while exploring various dig sites in this Nintendo DS adventure.
Dinosaur King came out for the Nintendo DS in 2007, developed by SEGA. It was part of that wave of games that really used both screens and the touch controls, fitting right in with the handheld's experimental phase. The game is based on the anime of the same name, so if you watched the show, a lot of the characters and setup felt familiar right from the start.
You play as a young dinosaur hunter, digging up fossil cards at various dig sites around the world. The main goal is to collect all the dinosaur cards and stop the evil Alpha Gang from using them for their own plans. You explore locations screen by screen, tapping the lower screen to excavate fossils, then using those dinosaurs in turn-based card battles. The battles are the core; you select attack cards and watch the dinosaurs clash in simple animations. The pacing is fairly relaxed, with exploration and collection taking up as much time as fighting. It feels like a light, portable adventure built around the simple joy of finding and using your favorite dinosaurs.
