Dinosaur’us is one of those Game Boy Color games that feels like it was made for lazy Sunday afternoons. You control this little dinosaur—not some hulking T-rex, but more of a scrappy, fast-moving guy—through these bright, bite-sized levels full of pits to jump over and weird fruit to collect. The volcano chase levels still stress me out in the best way.
It’s got that classic GBC look where everything’s just a little chunky and pixelated, but in a way that makes it feel alive. And yeah, you can switch languages mid-game, which is neat if you want to pretend you’re learning Italian while actually just running from lava. Honestly, it’s the kind of game you’d rent from a video store in 1999 and then get weirdly attached to.
