I picked up Disney's Aladdin for the Game Boy Advance back in 2004, a portable action platformer developed by Capcom. It was one of those licensed games that felt right at home on the GBA, a system packed with colorful side scrollers and quick arcade style adventures. The game doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it captures the movie's setting nicely.
You control Aladdin, running and jumping through levels based on locations from the film. Your main goal is to rescue Princess Jasmine and ultimately get your hands on the magic lamp. The gameplay involves screen by screen progression, using your sword to fend off guards and creatures, and collecting apples to throw at distant enemies or obstacles. The pacing is brisk, and some sections demand precise jumps, making it a decent challenge. It feels like a straightforward, energetic platformer that gets you moving without too much complication.
