Play E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (E)(Blizzard) Online
Guide a wobbly E.T. through maze-like woods, dodging feds and hunting phone parts—it’s clunky as hell, but there’s a weird charm in finally building that stupid phone while watching agents trip over themselves.

I picked up E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial for the Game Boy Advance back in 2002, a Blizzard release that came out during the handheld's early years. It was one of those licensed games you'd find tucked away in bargain bins, not exactly a headliner but something curious to try if you were a fan of the film or just exploring what the GBA had to offer beyond the usual hits.
You control E.T. himself, navigating screen by screen through forests, neighborhoods, and government facilities. Your main goal is to find the pieces of his interplanetary telephone so he can call home, which involves a lot of wandering and careful avoidance of scientists and agents who patrol the areas. The game relies on exploration and item collection, with a certain clunkiness to E.T.'s movement that makes evading capture tense, if sometimes frustrating. It's not a fast game; you move deliberately, retrace steps, and learn patrol patterns. Despite its rough edges, there's a quiet satisfaction in finally assembling that communicator and watching the little guy lift off into the stars.
