Play E.T. : The Extra-Terrestrial Online

Remember that scene in E.T. where he’s wobbling through the forest with his glowing finger? This Game Boy Advance version lets you actually be that little alien—or Elliott, depending on the level—scavenging for phone parts while dodging feds in suits. The bike chase feels janky in that nostalgic early-2000s handheld way, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about piecing together the transmitter while scientists close in. It’s definitely a love letter to the movie, right down to the awkward-but-charming animations.

Fair warning: the controls take some getting used to, especially when you’re trying to levitate stuff as E.T. But if you grew up with the film, stumbling through suburban backyards and cornfields hits different. You’ll either hate it or forgive its quirks after the first escape sequence.
