Play Element Hunters (KS)(2CH) Online
Earth's elements are disappearing, so you jump into warped dimensions to recover them—tactical combat forces you to match elements right or your hits barely land. Chunky art, brutal puzzles, and that one fire boss that wrecked me until I stacked my water team smarter.

Element Hunters came out for the Nintendo DS in 2009, developed by Enterbrain and published by Nintendo. It was one of those mid-lifecycle DS titles that tried something a little different, leaning into strategy and puzzle solving rather than pure action. The premise is straightforward: Earth's natural elements are vanishing, and you lead a team of kids into distorted pocket dimensions to retrieve them.
You control a squad of young hunters, moving through grid-based maps in a mix of exploration and turn-based combat. The main goal is to clear each area of monsters and recover the lost elemental cores. Combat is tactical; you have to match your attacks to enemy weaknesses based on their elemental type, or your damage is negligible. Outside of fights, you're solving environmental puzzles, often requiring specific element interactions to progress. The pacing is deliberate, and some boss fights demand careful team composition and timing. It feels like a thoughtful, sometimes punishing puzzle dressed up as an RPG.
