Oh man, The Emperor’s New Groove on Game Boy Color—this one’s a weird little delight. You play as Kuzco, the world’s most obnoxious emperor (now stuck as a llama, much to his dismay), and Pacha, the chill peasant who somehow puts up with him. The game nails the movie’s humor, with Kuzco whining every time you switch to him and Pacha just… being a nice guy about it.
Gameplay’s a mix of platforming and light puzzles—Kuzco can jump and headbutt stuff, while Pacha’s stronger and can push heavy objects. You’ll swing across gaps, avoid Yzma’s ridiculous traps, and occasionally out-dumb Kronk (bless him). The sprite work’s surprisingly expressive for a GBC title, especially when Kuzco dramatically flops over after taking damage.
It’s short, sure, but packed with personality. And honestly? Still funnier than most modern licensed games. That llama sass holds up.
