Escape from Atlantis was an unreleased prototype for the Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Color Dreams. It belongs to that era of the NES when developers were still figuring out how to translate complex adventure concepts into the constraints of the hardware, and this one clearly didn't make the final cut.
You control a diver navigating a labyrinth of submerged ruins, with the primary goal being to find a way out before your air supply runs out. The game plays out screen by screen, requiring you to solve simple block-pushing puzzles to open new paths while avoiding hostile sea creatures like jellyfish. The screen constantly scrolls upward, forcing you to keep moving and creating a real sense of urgency as collapsing ceilings and rising water threaten to trap you. It feels like a frantic, claustrophobic race against a sinking ship.
