Play F-Zero X Online
Race your hovercar at insane speeds, dodge obstacles, slam into rivals, and aim for the top three in F-Zero X on Nintendo 64.
F-Zero X came out on the Nintendo 64 in 1998, developed and published by Nintendo. It arrived during a period when the N64 was building a reputation for fast, competitive multiplayer games, and this one leaned hard into high-speed racing with a futuristic edge. It didn't try to be realistic; it was all about velocity and keeping control when everything wants to spin out.
You pilot a magnetic hovercar, competing against 29 other racers on twisting, multi-level tracks filled with jumps, tubes, and sharp bends. The main goal is simple: finish in the top three to advance through the Grand Prix cups. Key mechanics include a boost that drains your energy bar (which also acts as your health), and the ability to slam into rivals to drain their energy and potentially make them explode. The pace is relentless, and the margin for error is tiny; one bad scrape against the wall or a mistimed boost can end your race. It feels like balancing on a wire at 1000 miles per hour.
