Game Overview

Family Trainer - Manhattan Police is one of those weird, wonderful NES games that makes you wonder how it ever got made. You play as a cop sprinting across a pressure-sensitive mat (yes, the big floppy one you jump on) chasing crooks through a blocky version of Manhattan. It's like someone took Paperboy, gave it a shot of adrenaline, and then dared you not to trip over your own feet.

The first time I played, I wiped out halfway through because I got too into stomping the mat—those old-school controls don't forgive hesitation. The criminals look like they escaped from an 8-bit wanted poster, and the whole thing has this frantic energy where you're either laughing at how ridiculous it feels or genuinely sweating from side-stepping virtual traffic cones. Never officially released outside Japan, which somehow makes the whole experience even more charming.

Just don't play it on hardwood floors unless you enjoy sliding into furniture.
