Fatal Fury 2 on SNES brings back Terry Bogard and the gang, but this time there’s a new big bad—Wolfgang Krauser—who’s running his own brutal tournament. The roster’s bigger now, with eight fighters including fan favorites like Mai Shiranui and Kim Kaphwan, plus some weirdos like Cheng Sinzan (seriously, this guy fights with a plate of dumplings).
The two-plane fighting system from the first game is still here, but now you can hop between foreground and background whenever you want by hitting light punch + kick together. It sounds simple, but it changes everything—suddenly you’re dodging fireballs by shifting planes mid-combo. And yeah, the controls feel way sharper than the original, with proper special moves that don’t make your thumbs ache.
Just don’t expect mercy from the bosses. Krauser hits like a truck and laughs while doing it. You’ll lose a few times before figuring out his patterns, but that first win? Pure SNES fighting game bliss.
