Play Faxanadu (Europe) Online
You wander a dying fantasy world where townsfolk mutter nonsense, your sword shrinks when upgraded, and half your inventory might as well be cursed artifacts. Jumping between floating ruins and stabbing nightmare bugs has never felt this strangely hypnotic.

Game Overview
Faxanadu is one of those weird, moody NES RPGs that feels like it shouldn’t exist—but I’m so glad it does. You start off in this crumbling fantasy town where everyone speaks in cryptic riddles, and before long you’re jumping across floating platforms and stabbing giant bugs with a sword that somehow gets shorter when you upgrade it.
It’s got that classic side-scrolling action with light RPG elements—you level up, buy gear, and even need keys to open certain doors. The music’s eerie, the world feels lonely in a cool way, and yeah, the controls take some getting used to. But there’s something about the weird mix of European fantasy and Japanese game design that just sticks with you.
Also, good luck figuring out half the items without a guide. Nobody knows what "Mattock" does at first glance.
