FIFA 06 on the PlayStation Portable was a solid entry in EA's long running series, developed by EA Canada and published by Electronic Arts in 2005. You control all eleven players on the pitch, switching between them to defend, build attacks, and take shots on goal. The main objective is straightforward: outscore your opponent within the match time. Signature mechanics include using the analog nub for precise dribbling and directional control, tapping the shoulder buttons for tactical defending or triggering player runs, and executing set pieces like free kicks with a timed power bar. The pacing is quick but manageable, with difficulty that scales reasonably whether you're playing a friendly or climbing through career mode. It feels responsive and satisfying, especially when you string together a series of passes that ends with a clean finish into the net.
