Play FIFA Soccer 06 Online

Tight controls and deep tactics make this GBA soccer game way better than it should be—tweak formations mid-match, grind through season mode, or try weird challenges like nailing three volleys in five minutes. The graphics won’t wow you, but it plays smooth.

Game Overview

FIFA Soccer 06 on the GBA is surprisingly solid for a handheld soccer game. The controls feel tight, and you’ve got way more tactical options than you’d expect—like tweaking your team’s formation mid-match when you realize your defense keeps getting shredded.

Season mode’s where I spent most of my time, trying to drag some random club from the lower leagues up to glory. (Spoiler: I failed spectacularly at first.) There’s also a bunch of real tournaments to play through, plus these weird little challenge modes where you’re suddenly trying to score three volleys in five minutes or something. Unlocked a few jerseys that way, though I still can’t pull off a decent bicycle kick.

It’s not perfect—the graphics are what you’d expect from a GBA sports game—but the gameplay’s snappy enough that you’ll forget about the tiny sprites after a while. Just don’t expect modern FIFA depth.
