Play FIFA Soccer 2004 Online

FIFA Soccer 2004 on GBA adds the Dutch and Portuguese leagues to the mix—still the same overhead arcade-style matches, but now with more obscure clubs to try. Unlocking the special tournaments means digging out your GameCube, though.

Game Overview

FIFA Soccer 2004 on the GBA feels like a solid upgrade from the last one—same core gameplay, but with a few extra leagues and teams to mess around with. The Dutch and Portuguese leagues are new, which is cool if you're into those, and there's a bigger selection of clubs from around the world. The international teams got trimmed down a bit, though, so don’t expect every national squad under the sun.

You’ve got your usual modes—friendlies, link cable play, leagues—but there are also a few new tournaments if you’re willing to jump through some hoops. The Americas Club Championship and International Cup sound fun, but you’ll need to connect this to the GameCube version to unlock them (which feels a little sneaky, honestly).

Gameplay’s still the same overhead view, same controls—nothing revolutionary, but it works. If you liked the last one, this is basically more of that, just with a few extra options to keep it interesting. It’s a decent portable soccer fix if you’re not expecting a full console experience.
