Fight Night Round 3 on the PlayStation Portable came out in 2006 from EA Chicago and Electronic Arts. It was one of the more polished sports titles on the PSP at the time, offering a solid portable version of the console experience without feeling stripped down or compromised.

You control a boxer, either a created fighter or a real-world legend, working through a career or exhibition matches. The main objective is to win fights by landing clean punches, blocking or dodging incoming attacks, and eventually wearing down your opponent for a knockout. Signature mechanics include the haymaker punch, thrown by holding a button and flicking the analog nub, and the Total Punch Control system that maps jabs, hooks, and uppercuts to specific stick movements. Matches can be tense and methodical, especially on higher difficulties where one mistimed swing can turn the tide. It feels responsive and satisfying when you slip a combo and counter with a hard right.
