Game Overview
Fighter Bomber on the Amiga is one of those classic flight sims that feels rough around the edges now but had its charm back in the day. You’re thrown into the cockpit of a fighter jet with a surprisingly detailed (for the time) instrument panel, and the first thing you’ll notice is how janky the controls are—until you get used to them, at least. The terrain’s all flat polygons, and enemy planes look like they’re made of origami, but there’s something satisfying about lining up a bombing run or dogfighting over pixelated mountains.
Disk1 means you’re in for some good old-fashioned disk-swapping if you want the full experience. The missions start simple—take off, shoot a few things down—but later ones actually require some strategy. Just don’t expect modern physics or graphics; this is pure late-’80s Amiga nostalgia. If you’ve got the patience for retro quirks, it’s a neat little time capsule.
