Game Overview
Remember that scene in Finding Nemo where the tank gang plots their escape? This DS game lets you actually pull it off—plastic bags and all. You’ll swipe and blow into the mic to roll fish across roads, dodge anglerfish in the dark, and ride the EAC like it’s a watery rollercoaster. Some of the minigames feel a little frantic (that octopus chase still stresses me out), but nailing a perfect run with Jacques or Gill is weirdly satisfying.
Between escapes, you can decorate a little reef or aquarium with stuff unlocked by playing well. It’s not deep, but arranging coral while Nemo’s pals swim around has that same chill vibe as the movie’s quieter moments. Oh, and if you’ve got a friend with a copy, there’s a goofy multiplayer mode where you can pelt each other with pearls or play hide-and-seek in seaweed. Not essential, but a nice bonus.
It’s definitely aimed at younger players, but the controls actually make clever use of the DS’s quirks—way better than most movie tie-ins from that era.
