Play Flashback (Japan) Online

You wake up with no memory, dodging alien hitmen in a neon future—every jump and gunfight feels deliberate, like Conrad’s actually fighting for his life. The rotoscoped animation gives even simple actions weight, and that conspiracy? Way heavier than it has any right to be.

Game Overview

Flashback on SNES is one of those games that sticks with you—part sci-fi thriller, part platformer, with this weirdly cool rotoscoped animation that makes every movement feel weighty. You play as Conrad, some amnesiac GBI agent in the future, and right off the bat, you're dodging alien assassins in a neon-lit city while piecing together what the hell even happened to you.

The controls take a second to get used to (why does rolling feel so deliberate?), but once it clicks, the way Conrad moves—jumping, climbing, pulling out his gun—just feels satisfying. And the story? Way deeper than I expected from a 16-bit game. One minute you're sneaking past guards, the next you're uncovering some conspiracy that actually makes you pause and think. The pixel art holds up, too—those rainy cityscapes and alien jungles have mood for days.

It’s not perfect (good luck with some of those precision jumps), but it’s the kind of game that makes you forget you’re playing on a cartridge from 1992. If you like your action with a side of mystery, this one’s worth dusting off.
