Game Overview

Forgotten Worlds on the Sega Genesis is one of those weird, cool shooters that does things differently. Instead of just running left to right, you’re floating in all directions with a jetpack, spinning around to blast mutants, aliens, and whatever else the game throws at you. The controls take a second to get used to—you’ll be fumbling with the rotation at first—but once it clicks, it feels surprisingly smooth.

What really makes it stand out is the shop system. Between levels, you can spend the cash you’ve collected on new weapons, upgrades, or even health refills. It adds this little layer of strategy most shooters didn’t bother with back then. Oh, and playing co-op with a friend? Absolute chaos in the best way—just try not to accidentally shoot each other while spinning around.

The art’s got that late-80s arcade vibe—big, colorful sprites, ridiculous bosses, and some genuinely creepy enemy designs. And the music? Pure synth-y, adrenaline-pumping goodness. It’s not the easiest game out there, but if you’re into classic shooters with a twist, this one’s still worth firing up.
