Game Overview

I first played Forgotten Worlds on MS-DOS back in the late 80s, when Capcom brought it over as part of their MS-DOS Classic Games lineup. It stood out among the platform's early shooters, offering something a bit different from the typical space-themed blasters of the time. The game had a distinct visual style and a sense of scale that felt ambitious for its era, even if the hardware sometimes struggled to keep up.

You control a lone warrior equipped with a jetpack, flying through a series of side-scrolling and occasionally top-down stages. Your main goal is to survive each screen while shooting down an onslaught of enemies, from small grunts to massive screen-filling bosses. The signature mechanics include 360-degree aiming, letting you rotate and fire in any direction, and an in-stage shop where you spend collected currency to upgrade weapons or buy health. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty can be punishing, especially in later levels where enemy patterns demand quick reflexes. Playing it feels like being thrown into a chaotic, colorful warzone where every decision matters.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
