Pilot a hovercraft through twisting tunnels, shoot robotic enemies, dodge fire, find keys, and reach the exit in this chaotic 3D shooter from 1998.
Forsaken 64 came out in 1998 for the Nintendo 64, published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was part of that wave of early 3D shooters that tried to push the hardware with fast, polygonal action, though it never got the same attention as some of the bigger names on the system.
You pilot a small hovercraft through maze-like tunnels and chambers, shooting robotic enemies and dodging their fire. The main goal is to navigate each stage, find keys to unlock doors, and eventually reach the exit. The game uses a unique zero-gravity movement system; you drift, spin, and boost in all directions, which takes some getting used to. Combat involves switching between several weapon types, like rapid-fire lasers and homing missiles, to clear rooms of foes. The pacing is intense, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, especially in later levels with tight spaces and aggressive enemies. It feels disorienting and chaotic at first, but once the controls click, flying through those metallic corridors becomes a strange kind of fun.
