Frogger: Helmet Chaos came out on the Nintendo DS in 2005, developed and published by Konami. It was part of that early wave of DS games that tried to use both screens in clever ways, even if it didn't always feel essential. This one takes the classic frog and drops him into a full adventure instead of just crossing roads and rivers.
You control Frogger, navigating through a series of themed worlds, each made up of individual stages. The main goal is still to get from one end of the screen to the other, but now you're also hunting for gems and rescuing baby frogs. The big new mechanic is Frogger's helmet, which lets him perform special actions like floating with balloons to cross wide gaps or charging to break certain obstacles. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially in later levels where hazards come from all directions. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes frustrating, but mostly satisfying extension of the original formula.
