Game Overview

Gakkou no Kaidan - Hyakuyobako no Fuuin is one of those Game Boy Advance horror games that somehow nails the creepy vibe despite the tiny screen. You play as a kid stuck in a school haunted by a cursed box—the kind where every time you think you've figured it out, something new goes horribly wrong. The pixel art does a lot with a little, especially when shadows flicker or a hallway suddenly looks... longer than it should.

What I love is how it makes you paranoid. That locker might have a clue, or it might have a face. You'll poke at everything, but half the time you'll hesitate because the game rewards (or punishes) curiosity in equal measure. It's got that old-school Japanese horror feel—more dread than gore, more atmosphere than cheap scares. Just don't play it alone at night unless you enjoy side-eyeing your own closet afterward.
