The creatures evolve in weird, unexpected ways, and half the fun is seeing what your little squad turns into after a few battles. The sprites have that classic SNES charm, all chunky and expressive, and the music’s got this upbeat, almost playful vibe that contrasts nicely with how punishing some of the fights can get.
Yeah, you’ll need a translation patch unless you’re fluent in Japanese, but even then, the gameplay speaks for itself. It’s like someone took the best parts of early tactical RPGs and sprinkled in just enough monster-collecting to keep things interesting without feeling gimmicky.
