Gex 3 on Game Boy Color is basically what happens if you take a sarcastic gecko, shove him into a spy thriller, and let him loose with a bunch of terrible puns. Instead of channel-surfing like in the older games, this one has you sneaking through secret bases and jungles—still cracking jokes the whole time, obviously.
The levels are shorter than the console versions, which actually works great for quick play sessions. The pixel art’s surprisingly vibrant for a GBC game, and yeah, the one-liners are fewer, but hearing Gex mutter something snarky after taking out a bad guy never gets old.
