Game Overview

GFL Championship Football is one of those MS-DOS sports games that somehow nails the feel of football without all the modern bells and whistles. The graphics are pure pixel nostalgia—blocky players, basic animations—but once you start calling plays, it just clicks. I remember fumbling through the controls at first, but after a couple of quarters, I was audibling like a pro.

It’s got that old-school charm where every touchdown feels earned, especially when you break a long run with some janky but satisfying dodges. The playbook isn’t huge, but it’s deep enough to keep you tweaking your strategy. And yeah, the end-zone celebrations are hilariously minimal—just a little pixelated jump and maybe a fist pump if you’re lucky.

If you miss the days when football games were more about quick reflexes and less about hyper-realistic physics, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t expect Madden—this is pure, unfiltered retro gridiron.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
