Gifty (Germany) is one of those weird little Game Boy Color games you’d probably walk right past in a store—until you actually play it. At first glance, it’s just a cute critter pushing boxes (or "gifts," I guess?), but after a few levels, you realize how sneaky the puzzles get. It’s the kind of game where you’ll stare at the screen for a solid minute, then suddenly go, "Oh, duh," when the solution clicks.
The vibe’s somewhere between those old block-pushing puzzlers and something like Adventures of Lolo, but with its own odd charm. The colors pop nicely for a GBC game, and the music’s got this weirdly cheerful, slightly offbeat tune that sticks in your head. Not gonna lie, I got stuck on level 12 for way too long before realizing I was overcomplicating it.
If you dig puzzle games that don’t hold your hand but also don’t make you want to throw your Game Boy across the room, this one’s a solid pick. It’s short, but the later levels will absolutely test your patience in the best way.
