Game Overview
Okay, so this is that weird little Grinch game for the Game Boy Color that came out with the Jim Carrey movie. You play as the Grinch sneaking around Whoville, stealing presents and causing chaos—basically living the green grouch fantasy. The pixel art actually nails the Dr. Seuss style, with all those wobbly rooftops and oversized decorations.
Gameplay’s a mix of platforming and light puzzle stuff—you’ll climb chimneys, avoid guards (who are somehow even more unsettling in 8-bit), and stuff stolen goods into your sack. Controls are a little stiff, but once you get used to the Grinch’s weird lanky jumps, it’s weirdly satisfying to ruin Christmas. Music’s got that tinny GBC charm, too—expect a lot of jingle bells.
Honestly, it’s better than most movie tie-in games from that era. Just don’t expect a masterpiece.
