Play Guzzler Online
You're a wobbly blob slurping up water to spit at fire monsters—but the more you drink, the slower you get, and those flames don’t wait around. Sometimes a beer bottle spawns, and chugging it turns you into an unstoppable fireproof menace for a few glorious seconds.

Guzzler came out in arcades in 1983 from Tehkan, a company that also put out games like Bomb Jack. It was part of that wave of early 80s games where the concepts were simple, but the execution was often punishing. You didn't get a lot of story; you just got a cabinet, a joystick, and a very clear, immediate problem to solve.
You control a round, spongy creature whose only goal is to extinguish all the fire enemies on each single-screen stage. Your main tool is your own body; you suck up water from pools on the floor and then spit it back out in a stream to douse the flames. The core tension comes from your own consumption. The more water you hold, the heavier and slower you become, making it harder to evade the increasingly aggressive enemies that patrol the area. Occasionally, a special beer bottle appears. Grabbing it transforms you temporarily, letting you move freely through fire and destroy enemies on contact. The pacing is relentless, demanding quick decisions about when to drink, when to spit, and when to risk everything for a power-up. It feels like a constant, slippery struggle against your own necessary greed.
