Ron and Hermione actually fight with you now—Hermione scolds enemies while Ron throws Scabbers at them. You still get lost in Hogwarts, but at least there are maps this time.
If you played the first Harry Potter GBC game, this one feels familiar—same turn-based battles, same Hogwarts exploration, but with some solid upgrades. The biggest change? You’re not solo anymore. Ron and Hermione join your party, and they’ve got their own weirdly charming attacks. Ron sends Scabbers the rat to nibble enemies, while Hermione literally lectures foes into submission (her "Be Careful!" shout actually boosts your defense).
No more potion-mixing, but the new Informous spell is a lifesaver—it scans enemies and logs their weaknesses so you don’t have to guess. And thank Merlin, they added floor maps this time. Hogwarts is still a maze, but at least you won’t get lost in the same corridor for 20 minutes.
Quidditch is back as a mini-game, along with a few others you can replay from the menu. It’s not a huge leap from the first game, but the party system and quality-of-life tweaks make it feel like a proper sequel. Just watch out for those killer spiders in the Forbidden Forest.
