Hashire Hebereke came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed and published by Sunsoft. It was part of that mid-90s wave of quirky Japanese platformers that didn't always make it overseas, full of oddball charm and a distinct visual style.

You control one of four animal-like characters, each with slightly different movement, as you race through side-scrolling stages. The main goal is to reach the end of each level while avoiding enemies and obstacles, but the real fun comes from the slippery, momentum-based controls and the ability to slide into foes to stun them. You can also pick up items that change your form, like turning into a fast-moving wheel or a bouncing ball, adding variety to the navigation. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly in later stages. It feels unpredictable and a little absurd in the best way possible.
