Play Hatris (Japan) Online
You're stacking hats—berets, gnome caps, even sombreros—trying to match pairs before they pile up to the ceiling while that weirdly catchy NES music plays. It starts chill, then suddenly you're shoving a top hat sideways onto a pile like a desperate milliner.

Hatris came out in 1990 on the NES, developed and published by Bullet-Proof Software. It was part of that wave of puzzle games that followed Tetris, trying to capture some of that falling-block magic but with its own twist. The NES had plenty of these quick-play games, and Hatris fit right in with its simple concept and clear, bright graphics.
You control a pair of hats that fall from the top of the screen; your goal is to stack them in columns of five matching types to make them disappear. The main mechanics involve rotating the pair and moving them left or right to position them where they fit best. As the game speeds up, you have to plan several moves ahead to avoid a messy pile-up. It feels like a race against the clock once those hats start dropping faster.
