Play Hi-Octane Online
Blast across sprawling desert tracks where you can veer off into nowhere, lob missiles at rivals, and occasionally lose the actual race route in all that foggy draw distance. Pure '90s jank with a weirdly satisfying sense of speed.

Hi-Octane came out in 1995 for MS-DOS as part of the Classic Games series, developed by Bullfrog Productions. It was a product of its time, sitting alongside other early 3D racers that pushed what PCs could handle, with all the rough edges and ambition that entailed.
You control a futuristic hover vehicle, competing in races across hazardous tracks filled with obstacles and rival drivers. The main objective is to finish first, but survival often depends on destroying opponents with weapons like missiles and mines. Signature mechanics include the ability to drive off the main path into open terrain, a limited draw distance that obscures distant track details, and combat-focused racing that rewards aggression as much as speed. The pacing is frantic, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly due to tight corners or sudden attacks. It feels like a chaotic scramble where every finish line is a relief.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
